About Us


First Avenues Staff

 

Aimee Adams, our First Avenues Program Director, started with Hamilton Family Center in 2005 as a Case Manager at Hamilton Family Residences.  Aimee received her M.S.W. from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois in Chicago. 

 

Lindy Gill, the First Avenues Associate Program Director, has been in family homeless services for over three years. Lindy began her social services work in the Bay Area at Compass Community Services as a Case Manager, and moved to Hamilton Family Center in the summer of 2006 to join our First Avenues team. Lindy has her B.A. in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara, and holds a minor in Spanish.  Lindy is fluent in both Spanish and English.

 

Jen Sanchez is our Eviction Prevention Specialist.  Jen received a Bachelors of Social Work from the California State University and has participated in the NASW’s extended learning program for HIV/AIDS Counseling.  Jen has a variety of social service work throughout the Bay Area and is also bilingual in Spanish and English. 

 

Sara Bernal is our Housing Services Specialist.  She recently relocated from Boston where she was a Property Manager Case Worker at Windsor House.  Sara graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology.  Sara has a variety of social service experience both domestically and internationally, as well as, being bilingual in Spanish and English.

 

Andrea Banks, Home Based Support Services Specialist, is First Avenues’ newest addition to the team.  Andrea received a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Historical Inquiry from Eugene Lang College at New School University in New York and recently earned her Juris Doctorate from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia. Andrea brings a wealth of experience in housing legal rights and community justice.

 

Cecilia Chacon is the Representative-Payee Services Administrative Manager. With over 20 years experience in finances and non-profit work, Cecilia brings a wealth of knowledge to the program. Cecilia is fluent in both English and Spanish. 

 

Julia McQuoid, is the Program Assistant for Hamilton Family Center, with great involvement on projects related to First Avenues.  Julia began her career with Hamilton as a Bilingual Case Manager at Hamilton Family Residences in the winter of 2006.  Julia received her Bachelors in Sociology/Anthropology from Mills College and has extensive experience with social research.
